Guinea Cat

This page contains information about guinea pigs based on my personal experience. I live in the Philippines so the posts will contain information regarding where to buy items in this country. Please don’t ask where and how to buy online, or in your country, because I do not know. I buy my guinea pig supplies from local shops.

My guinea pig Almond has a cat-ears headband and that’s how this page got its title.

I hope you open again this blog. I want to ask the feeding habits of your pigs? i currently have two female guinea pigs who are two months old and I am currently feeding them with Verselle-Laga Crispy Muesli twice a day and give cilantro and cucumber once a day. They eat Timothy Hay all throughout the day. I haven’t tried giving them with LC-Vit yet.

I give my guinea pigs unlimited pellets and hay. I don’t stack too much hay in their house because they tend to sleep on it instead of eating it, but whenever they’ve run out of hay I give them more. As for the pellets, I leave a lot of it and let them eat as they please. I give parsley or celery once a day, apples every other day. I don’t give them LC-vit now because they are not sick and they are adults already, but I give them 1cc Vitamin C syrup every night (through syringe, not mixed in drinking water).

I dunno if this will go through you, and you have had no guinea pig related posts recently, but I would just.like to try for the heck of it.

You see, my piggie jumped a good feet or so when I foolishedly put her on a heightened place while spot cleaning her cage. I immediately picked her up and saw blood seep out of her nose, although limping a bit she gained her footing after sometime being put back in her cage and she also ate and drank water after sometime it happened.

So I was wondering if you had brought your piggies to a vet somewhere? I would like to have her checked and stuff. If you have done so in the past, may u please indicate the fees and stuff? Thanks in advanced.

Oh my, I’ve not logged in WordPress for a while. I hope your guinea pig is still okay >_< My guinea pig's vet is Dr. Nielsen Donato of Vets in Practice Animal Hospital Mandaluyong. They also have a Vets in Practice hospital at Katipunan. I've no idea as to how much it would cost for you since it depends on what the animal needs, but the xray ranges from 200pesos to 400pesos depending on what needs to be checked. Here's the info for VIP Mandaluyong: (2) 531-1581. Clinic hours Monday to Sunday 8am to 10pm; emergency hours 10pm – 8am. Even if Dr. Donato is not there, other vets can give first aid to your guinea pig until an exotic animals vet comes in.

I love your guinea posts! πŸ™‚ I love how informative they are and the lengths you went through to make your readers understand πŸ™‚ I happened upon them while trying to hunt down suppliers of hagen’s pellets. There aren’t any around the metro. 😦 In case you know of anyone, please let me know. I’ve made my own c & c cage too. although the choroplasts werent as effective. I still got guinea poop all over! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.204783969535969.60903.100000131031275&type=3. looking forward to more of your posts πŸ™‚

I just bought some Hagen pellets at SM Megamall’s “bioresearch” pet shop (Lower Ground Floor) last Monday 08/20/12. The pellets seem to be seasonal since they’re made from alfalfa. If bioresearch already restocked, other shops such as Ace Hardware (with a pet section) and Sea and Land Pet Shop at Shopwise might have restocked too.
